Be Bahrain

The Bahrain Room under the creative direction of JJ Valaya was to give a uniquely new and modern spin to traditional craft and develop products that are distinctly Bahraini but will fit into any contemporary lifestyle. We have worked with 12 artisans to create a multitude of exhibits ranging from Furniture to wall art to men’s fashion to a unique line of lifestyle products to walls of signature fine art photography for The Bahrain Room.

The intricately designed furniture pieces are produced with the finest quality Burma Teak wood along with high-grade veneers often juxtaposing traditional patterns with the sharp lines of modern-day forms. The furniture collection is a lavish tribute to Arabic elegance, set to present Bahraini statement pieces for both metropolitan lifestyles and more conservative homes.

The home accessories line complements The Bahrain Room’s lavish furniture showcase by offering daily-use items that can be integrated into all kinds of lifestyles and global households. The line’s signature characteristic is a contemporary structure with Arabesque patterns carved into the products and filled with gold leaf. This range includes a range of Bukhoor burners, elaborate trays, platters and bowls, and coasters presented in Bani Jamra boxes.

Lastly, the fashion line conceptualized for the first edition of Be Bahrain is a limited edition jacket collection for men that highlights traditional Middle Eastern extravagance in contemporary wear and has been manifested in three signatures. The first style is woven with wool-based Bani Jamra fabric and adorned with mother-of-pearl buttons. The second signature is constructed with textured linen and finished with Dilmun Seal buttons in bronze. The same buttons are also the finishing touch on the third design, jackets produced with traditionally-dyed ikat pattern fabric.
